Benchmarking: ProTerra Standard (V5.0) and Bonsucro

ProTerra has developed a benchmarking of the ProTerra Standard V5.0 (PT V5.0) from September 2023 against the BONSUCRO PRODUCTION Standard version 5.2 from July 2023.

The results show that Bonsucro’s compliance with ProTerra is around 37%.

Table 1 below provides a summary of alignment with the ProTerra Principles.

ProTerra Foundation embraces mutual recognition of sustainability standards and believes that synergies help reduce costs of standard implementation and certification while reducing audit burden.  As such, Table 2 shows the full list of complementary requirements that are necessary to be further verified during a ProTerra audit of a Bonsucro certified operation.
