The latest edition of the Non-GMO Market Report was published in April 2025 by ENGA, Donau Soja and the ProTerra Foundation.

The following points summarise the major trends and recent developments that affect Non-GM supply & demand within the EU in the current 2024/25 and upcoming 2025/26 marketing years:

  • Yields for all Non-GM crops in the EU – soy, maize, and rapeseed – are forecast to improve in 2025, reversing the setbacks from the previous season.
  • EU Non-GM soy area is expected to shrink by 8.2%, yet output may rise slightly due to improved yields. However, imports of Brazilian Non-GM soy are projected to fall below 1 million tonnes, their lowest level on record.
  • EU maize output could grow by 9.5% in 2025, driven by strong yield recovery in Southeast Europe. No supply bottlenecks are expected for Non-GM maize in the coming year.
  • EU rapeseed area is up 3.8%, and total output may increase by 12% compared to 2024, with most crops in good condition despite some regional weather concerns.
  • Non-GM soymeal premiums declined to 90–130 EUR/t in March 2025, roughly 25% lower than late 2024 levels.
  • Trade conflicts and currency volatility continue to influence price fluctuations across all Non-GM commodity markets in the EU.
